The advent of the modern lifestyle has made the child today much confident and smarter than earlier. Technology has made them independent and times are more favorable for kids today to live on their own terms.
However, there are many pitfalls of this lifestyle and teen pregnancy is one of them. There are hundreds and thousands of teenagers who are facing this trouble on their own and are infact fending for a moment’s easy breath.
Pregnancy is a challenge for the most seasoned of women and it can get really demanding and cumbersome for a teenager. The troubles for the girl are usually more than they are for the boys. Dealing with one’s own growing up, studies, child birth, a job to support the expenses and the constantly prying eyes of strangers can have many negative effects.
Girls, who have given birth at an early stage of their lives, often are thought off as being of “loose character” and the “sleeping around” variety. It is as if they get branded with printed tins. The feeling that the society gets is that a teen parent is highly irresponsible and not equipped to handle a child on her own. Even if the girl follows a highly qualified child expert, the impression at large is that because age is not on her side, she is likely to be a less responsible and caring parent than a normal aged mother.
Teen fathers are usually not around and even if they are, they soon vanish at the first sight of trouble. Therefore, with little support from all quarters, a girl is left on her own devices to deal with life and the child. New boyfriends and fresh company is not easily available for the teen mom. Relationships with parents often become strained and this only further adds to the misery of the teen mom.
Therefore, it is quite important for teenagers these days to be aware of the repercussions of their decisions, some good and some not so good.
