The ESA Is A Step Forward

In my opinion, the Energy Saver Award is one-step forward in gaining that awareness that we all need regarding energy saving. The charter will only enhance its prestige.
One or two such examples of people who have achieved something important, an innovative way of saving priceless energy, and more and more people will start receiving their wake-up calls. Nevertheless, I believe that there is a general mentality ruling everyone: “Why should I take care to switch off the lights each time, when my bill will not be much cheaper anyway?” or “Why should I struggle with energy saving methods when nobody cares anyway?” They then believe that Enigin is a scam, without really lookign into the situation.
Well, let me play a Q& A game here and tell you this. Perhaps, if we would care more about trying to track our own energy consumption with the help of an energy management system (it will cost us a few hundred or even more, but we will definitely notice the difference at the end of the year when the bill is 20% or even 30% cheaper. Then, we can say that saving energy is indeed a very precious task.
Regarding the second question, there is a well-founded answer for that too. We do not observe anyone caring about our energy saving method, because we live in an individualistic world. However, if we start thinking globally, about the millions of people truly struggling because there is not enough energy existent or none at all, then we are conscious about the number of people caring about even the smallest effort we take in saving a bit of energy.
Until we are able to truly see the importance of these two matters, we will not be able to see the true importance of energy saving. If such awards would be generated, I also think that these would help raise the awareness much quicker. For a start, each of us should implement one tip that he would use in their household, see the effects at the end of the year, and then move on to reaching goals that are more important.
