Straight Talker
Why do so many women make such a big deal out of needing to wear make-up to go out of the house? Take me for example, I rarely wear make-up. Because of that nobody expects me too, and it’s never done me any harm.
Skin-care, as any woman worth her stockings knows, is where it’s at. Have good skin and you won’t need to worry about concealing that lovely face up. Think of it like stainless steel prison bars: would you rather have your skin free — free-range skin, if you like — or would you prefer to imprison it, trap it in the dark, starve it of sunlight? Because that’s what you’re doing if you cake your face in make-up. Personally, I think that a healthy, natural face is a much better look.
And I have asked men about this, don’t you worry. I did a quick survey in the pub the other week and the opinion was universal and unanimous: men (at least the men I hang out with and that were at the pub) like women who look as though they have real skin. Unsurprisingly, the plastic-wrapped face look didn’t even get a look in.
There are exceptions to the rule, of course. Like if you’re going out and you feel you need a confidence boost. But let’s keep it to special occasions, shall we? I think that if you do this then you’ll start to feel more confident in the face you were born with. With any luck you won’t feel the need to wear make-up half as much.
