Inject Away the Wrinkles
Wrinkles are a visual statement of your general age and health, and so it’s little wonder that women hate them! With this in mind, there are a number of different treatments available to help women retain some of their mystic by masking or even obliterating the wrinkles and so make their skin appear younger and healthier than it actually is. One of these methods is using injectable treatments.
There are two different types of injectable wrinkle treatments available, and neither of them will be available at a walk-in salon! If this kind of procedure sounds as if it’s just what you’re looking for, then you’re going to need to consult with your GP at the least, but better yet, a cosmetic surgeon or dermatologist. For someone who has prematurely aged skin, or has a skin problem then a GP may be willing to make some form of referral to a skin care professional who can help with these procedures, but if it’s something you want done just to hold back time, then you’ll probably have to find a specialist and pay privately for this – your local GP’s office may be willing to advise on reputable practices for the treatment however.
The first of the treatments is used on dynamic wrinkles. The muscles that cause you to squint or frown create these, and the treatment involves injecting a muscle relaxant into the area ( such as botox). Don’t expect an instant transformation however as it could take a week before the full benefits can be seen – and then you can expect to repeat the procedure about 3 times a year to maintain the look.
The second treatment is used on static wrinkles. These use dermal fillers below the wrinkle to plump it up (Such as perlane). A few injections is needed on the treatment and it could be that an anesthetic will be applied to numb down the treatment area. As with the first treatment however this is a temporary fix, and you’ll need to schedule another date after about 6 months.
It is possible to have side effects from the injections such as swelling, redness or burning at the injection site. More sure you are aware of the possible side effects before you have the treatment so that you know what’s normal, and what’s not once you get home from the treatment centre.
