Acne is commonly referred as pimples, spots, plukes or zits and occurs most commonly at puberty because of abnormal levels of male hormone. The acne normally disappears on its onwn over a period of time but it can not be predicted how long it will take the acne to disappear completely.
There are some lucky persons who never gets any sort of acne but there is no known reason for the same. Some factors that may cause acne are:
- Family history
- Puberty or menstrual cycles
- Stress
- Bacterial infection on skin
- Active inflammation
- Exposure to chlorine
There are many treatments available for acne including but not limited to exfoliating the skin using chemical agents like salicyclic acids, topical bactericidal like benzoyl peroxide that are available over the counter in most countries, topical antibiotics like erythromycin, oral antibiotics like tetracycline and hormonal treatments.
If you are not among the lucky ones that do not have acne choose the treatment from the above list & go after your acne problem
